The structure of the industrial furnace with the part systems shown is based on European Standard EN 746, Part 2: “Safety requirements for combustion and fuel handling systems”.

The objective of this standard is to list the minimum requirements for the construction of gas combustion and fuel handling systems and their operation on industrial thermoprocessing equipment as well as to define the safety equipment.

As a result of the large number of different gas-fired industrial furnaces, burners and heating systems and the processes they adopt which, in some cases, differ wildly from each other, a correspondingly large number of designs and dimensions is required which can be achieved by combining different devices and part systems.

This overview of an industrial furnace is designed to provide an example of the possibilities of gas and air supply as well as the various control types.
